PRESTO CHANGO...

On a Friday evening, who wants to cook an elaborate meal? Not I, surely. Hence why I often toss together a salad using whatever's in my fridge.

Sometimes the result can be quite paltry; think green-leaf lettuce with more green-leaf lettuce and a teeny piece of zabocah*. Other times, things can get rather fancy, with arugula, walnuts, baked Mahi-Mahi...

And then there are days like today, when the toss lands somewhere in between the two extremes.

This evening's sauteed shrimp & baby spinach salad took all of 10 minutes to create and it disappeared in half the time. Here's to my version of fast food.

With OJ & sparkling mineral water on the side, of course...

*Zabocah is essentially 'Avocado' in Trinidadian Parlance.

Look what I found on the net this morning: Blogger & Jeweler Wendy Brandes' denim button-up article for HuffPo's Stylelist .

And what do you know? Yours truly and my beloved H&M denim men's shirt was featured in the post's slideshow.   I must admit - I'm quite stoked by this.

Thanks Wendy!

I only received this final version last week, but my Au Courant fleece sweatshirt - the first of two logo designs - has already been integrated into my heavy-rotation rack of clothes. It's thick enough to provide just the right amount of warmth on cold days, without broiling me to death on balmier ones.

Coincidentally, its been warm enough to warrant jacket-free, boot-free and sock-free dressing. Which is perfect, because not only do I get to wear this cozy sweater ad-nauseum, but I also get to see my ankles again.

Been wearing layers of socks and foot-warmers for so bloody long, that I'd forgotten what the lower half of my legs looked like. I'm so serious, it's not even funny...

And since I've never seen a heather-grey article of clothing that I didn't instantly love, this logo sweatshirt may very well become part of my daily ensemble.

Weather - and wash days - permitting, of course.

PS:Thanks for all the purchase inquiries! I've got a three more pieces to show, then I'll certainly make the sweater available through Au Courant!

Apart from the Logo Tote, I produced three other Limited Pieces for Au Courant Studio at the start of the year. And today, I finally received the first version of my Sweatshirts, and I'm beyond happy about the results.

It's my standard heathered, athletic-grey colour; it's a plush fleece that's warm but not too warm, and the length falls at that flattering spot just above the hips.

Can't wait to share the full sweatshirt with you and make it available on the website...
